Industry News and Updates
1)Selena Gomez x Oreo
Selena Gomez has teamed up with Oreo to create a limited-edition cookie inspired by her childhood favorite drink, horchata. These cookies feature chocolate and cinnamon-flavored wafers filled with two layers of crème: one with chocolate and cinnamon, and another with sweetened condensed milk and cinnamon sugar inclusions.
Each cookie is embossed with one of six unique designs, including Gomez's signature and nods to her music and fanbase, the "Selenators." A portion of the proceeds will support the Rare Impact Fund, Gomez’s mental health initiative. The cookies will be available for pre-order on Oreo's website starting June 2, and will roll out to retailers nationwide on June 9.

Known for giving away millions in cash and prizes, he expanded his brand with successful ventures like MrBeast Burger and Feastables. In addition to entertainment, he’s made a major impact through philanthropy—funding surgeries, feeding communities, and supporting environmental causes. 3)Zee → Z
Zee Entertainment has launched a major rebrand across all its platforms, introducing a bold new ‘Z’ logo to unify its identity. Announced at the ZEE Cine Awards 2025, the update reflects Zee’s focus on premium content and innovation. Zee TV’s new look, inspired by the marigold flower, aims to boost viewer engagement, while Zee News now features a cleaner, more modern design to build trust and clarity with audiences. Looks kinda weird 😭
Marketing Term of the week - Churn Rate
Churn rate is like when people stop using something they were regularly using before.
Imagine you and 100 of your friends have a monthly Netflix subscription. Next month, 10 of your friends cancel their subscription. That means 10 out of 100 left—so the churn rate is 10%.
In business, companies track this to know how many customers are leaving over time. A high churn rate is bad because it means people are not happy or not finding value, and the company keeps losing users.
So, churn rate tells a brand, “Hey, are people staying loyal or walking away?”
Marketing Campaign of the week
This Amul ad is a tribute to Virat Kohli’s retirement from Test cricket. The line “Ek Virat Virasat!” means “A grand legacy!”, using a wordplay on his name Virat, which also means “huge” or “immense” in Hindi. It highlights the massive contribution he made to Indian Test cricket — as a player and as a captain. The tagline “A true leader” reflects how he led India to historic wins overseas and made the team known for aggression, fitness, and dominance in Tests. It’s Amul’s way of saying goodbye and thank you to a cricketing legend.
